An Unforgettable Celebration of Courage, Creativity, and Community

FDS Got Talent 2025 was a highlight of our SG60 National Day Celebration, bringing together courage, creativity, and community in one unforgettable event. What began as a small, semi-virtual gathering during the COVID-19 pandemic has now grown into a stage where our members with disabilities can showcase their talents proudly. From music to dance, every performance was a testament to empowerment, determination, and the joy of being seen and celebrated.

The Journey of FDS Got Talent 2025 – From COVID-19 to SG60

The very first FDS Got Talent was born out of challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing meant we had to limit the number of people who could gather. Instead of cancelling, we created a semi-virtual event — with some members performing on-site in small groups, while others joined in from home via livestream.

It was a modest beginning, with only a handful of members taking part. But it lit a spark. Members discovered new confidence, families saw their loved ones shine, and FDS found a new way to empower our community even in difficult times.

From that small start, FDS Got Talent has grown. This year marks our third edition, and it was our biggest and brightest yet.

Empowerment on Stage: Performances at FDS Got Talent 2025

For many of our members, standing on a stage in front of an audience is a huge leap of courage. Performances don’t come together overnight — they take weeks of practice, patience, and persistence.

When our members step onto the stage, they are not only sharing a song, a dance, or a poem. They are showing us their determination, their creativity, and their joy. Each performance represents hours of effort, each smile on stage reflects the courage to try, and each round of applause honours that spirit of empowerment.

Our goal at FDS has always been to create meaningful opportunities — chances for our members to set a goal, work towards it, and be celebrated for their effort. FDS Got Talent is exactly that: a platform where every attempt, every note, every step is worthy of recognition.

Community Spirit at SG60: Volunteers, Partners, and Inclusion

This year’s celebration would not have been possible without the generosity of S&P Global. Not only did S&P sponsor the programme, they also gave us the gift of space — a wonderful venue where our members could celebrate and shine. Even more meaningful was the presence of S&P staff, who volunteered alongside us.

They cheered, clapped, and even joined in the fun, making our members feel valued and supported. That spirit of inclusion and partnership gave our performers the confidence to shine even brighter.

The hall was filled with laughter, music, and applause. It wasn’t just about the performances; it was about the joy of community — when people of all abilities come together to celebrate each other.

Why FDS Got Talent 2025 is More Than Just a Talent Show

FDS Got Talent 2025 was not just a show. It was a celebration of possibility.

It reminded us that empowerment isn’t about perfection — it’s about giving individuals the chance to try, to express, and to be seen. When courage meets opportunity, something powerful happens: people rise, people shine, and communities grow stronger.

At Friends of the Disabled Society, this is what we strive for every day — to empower individuals with disabilities to live with confidence, creativity, and pride.

Looking Ahead: The Future of FDS Got Talent

As we look ahead, our vision is two-fold: to reach out to more individuals with disabilities, and to create more platforms where they can discover their strengths, build courage, and celebrate their talents with pride. FDS Got Talent 2025 is proof that when people are given the chance to shine, they inspire not only themselves but everyone around them.

We also hope that more partners and sponsors, like S&P Global, will come forward to support our journey. Their generosity not only makes events like this possible, but also helps us expand our impact, touch more lives, and build greater awareness of the abilities within our community. Together, we can continue to create spaces where empowerment, inclusion, and joy take centre stage.
