Shaping Hearts 2024: Art Beyond Limits
FDS artists took center stage at Shaping Hearts 2024, showcasing their incredible talent and creativity. Four of our artists – Bobby Yeo Teck Chye, Lim Kim Lai, Ng Siang Hoi, and Priscilla Ang – successfully sold their paintings, proving that art knows no boundaries. These masterpieces were created during our Saturday art workshops, which are 100% subsidized for members with disabilities. We encourage more members to pick up a brush and explore their artistic potential!
Purple Parade: Championing Inclusivity
FDS proudly participated in the Purple Parade, Singapore’s largest movement for disability inclusion. Our members showcased their creativity with handcrafted merchandise and engaged the public in interactive art sessions. It was heartwarming to see the community come together, advocating for an inclusive society where everyone has a voice.

Deepavali Celebration: A Festival of Lights & Togetherness
This year’s Deepavali celebration at FDS was a vibrant affair filled with joy, music, and delicious festive treats. Our members and volunteers enjoyed traditional performances, hands-on rangoli art, and a meaningful time of bonding. It was a reminder that no one is alone in their journey – the FDS family is always here to celebrate and uplift one another.

Christmas at FDS was extra special this year with Ms. Shamila, our long-time Christmas sponsor and host, returning from Vietnam to bring her signature warmth and energy. From festive games and music to the much-anticipated visit from the Santa Claus, the celebration was filled with laughter and love. Many of our members with disabilities never thought they could paint, but through our fully subsidized Saturday art workshops, they’ve discovered hidden talents and even earned income from their artwork. These classes teach both creative techniques and essential life skills like patience and perseverance.
